SHREE MOTILAL KANHAIYALAL FOMRA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is an engineering college that aims to change the face of higher education. Established in 2001, the college aims to impart education that will thoroughly prepare students for a professional career in any field of their choice. Evidence of our hard work and commitment can be found in the fact that the college is certified with an ISO 9001:2008 certification for imparting quality education and has applied for accreditation to NBA for CSE, ECE, EEE & I.T. branches. Located in the Thaiyur village near Kelambakkam on OMR (I.T. Highway) 35km from Chennai, the college is spread over a sprawling area of 25 acres. The college offers 4-year degree programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Information Technology and Bio-Medical Engineering. A 3-year Postgraduate programme -Master of Computer Applications -was introduced in the year 2006-2007. The college has also applied for the B.E.-Civil, Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation few masters' degree programmes and M.B.A programmes. The college has a vision of promoting higher education in both general and technical areas with an experienced and dedicated faculty who have a firm belief in working together with full involvement and commitment.

Management

The founder Late Shree Kanhaiyalalji Fomra, with a vision to promote the cause of Education and to help the economically & socially under privileged students to pursue higher education in general and Technical Education in particular, formed the Trust in the year 1995.
The promoters are well known business people in electrical trade (FOMRA ELECTRICALS) for over 50 years and are pioneers in promoting schools and colleges for over three decades.

Mission is to prepare men and women for roles of leadership and service. We believe that a college has an obligation to provide sound education and a commitment to the society to endow with technically sound professionals and dedicated leaders. For this cause, we have created an exceptionally good infrastructure comprising of fully equipped Laboratories, Lecture Halls, Seminar Rooms, etc., and well qualified & experienced faculty. It is in essence an environment for learning and also a pathway to the future. We have attracted students from all over India. We see our students as the influential intellectuals and capable administrators of tomorrow. Further, we are keen at ensuring that when our students graduate, they take with them those skills, abilities and experiences, essential for a successful professional career.
